Heritage Stay on the Melaka River

Heritage Stay on the Melaka River

Proudly boasting a UNESCO World Heritage city designation, Melaka is popular destination on every Malaysian itinerary and for good reason. A charming Chinatown, local art scene, tons of cafes, delicious restaurants and a teeming weekend night market all make exploring Melaka an absolute joy.

RC Hotel Melaka

Located on the northern banks of the Melaka River, The RC Hotel sits as a beautiful riverfront property inviting ultimate comfort and relaxation. Situated right on Jalan Kampong Pantai in close walking distance of many of the city’s top attractions, the RC Hotel is the perfect base for exploring Melaka.

A beautifully restored heritage building, the RC Hotel Melaka is a luxurious and historic hotel right in the middle of the city. Proudly displaying its rich Dutch and British design influences, the RC Hotel offers a unique opportunity to experience some of Melaka’s history firsthand. With 31 tastefully decorated and spacious rooms, the property offers high levels of comfort and luxury that are bound to satisfy any traveler.

With room capacities ranging from two to four people, the RC Hotel is a great choice for couples as well as families looking for accommodations in Melaka. Sporting a tastefully done, art-deco theme throughout the hotel, each room is equipped for optimum comfort during your stay. Over the course of our time at the RC Hotel, we were lucky enough to stay in one of the Executive Deluxe rooms and couldn’t have possibly asked for a more comfortable experience! From the gorgeous balcony views to the heavenly comfortable (and extremely large) bed, we definitely found ourselves never wanting to leave.

Along with the cozy hotel rooms, another one of our favorite aspects of staying at the hotel was it’s awesome collection of riverfront views. The RC Hotel has not one, but two river front dining options on sight. Located on the ground floor directly next to the Melaka River, the Lobby Bar has a delicious food and beverage selection as well as the perfect place to sit back and unwind after a long day exploring the city.

The hotel’s second dining facility, Mercado, is an upmarket Mediterranean restaurant located on the building’s top floor. With sweeping panoramic views of Melaka City and the river down below, Mercado is an amazing place to enjoy a picture perfect sunset.

Ultimately, one of our favorite parts about the RC Hotel had to be its location. Situated right along the Melaka River and Jalan Kampung Pantai, the RC Hotel is right in the heart of the city. A short walk away from many of the city’s main attractions, the RC is the best place to stay if you’re really looking to explore the city. Only steps away from Melaka’s famed Chinatown area, both the dining and entertainment options are endless. Plus, if you’re lucky enough to visit during the weekend, you’ll have the chance to experience the Jonker Street Night Walk. Overflowing with vendors selling everything from souvenirs and handicrafts to delicious snacks like barbecue seafood and mouth watering dumplings, it’s the perfect place to spend a Saturday night.

Overall, we simply could not have asked for a better place to stay during our time in Melaka. The RC Hotel was the perfect base for exploring the city, and it really allowed us to take in all that Melaka had to offer. From the riverfront dining views to our unbelievably cozy room and the stellar location, the RC Hotel was everything that we could have asked for and more. If you’re in the market for a luxury hotel experience in the heart of Melaka, we cannot recommend the RC Hotel highly enough!
